On July 25, the French pharmaceutical giant Sanofi(Sanofi)Disclosed the latest pipeline progress and performance.

1. Termination of the Phase II Study of Complement C1s Monoclonal Antibody Riliprubart for Cold Agglutinin Disease
Riliprubart is a complement C1s monoclonal antibody developed by Sanofi, which can reduce the inflammatory response in CIDP patients by preventing the overactivation of the complement system.
2. TerminationQuadrivalent Influenza mRNA Candidate VaccinePhase I Study of SP0273
Cancel the Priority for Advancing Three Products in Clinical Development:
1. FGFR3 Monoclonal AntibodySAR442501Phase II Study for the Treatment of Achondroplasia
The open-label study of SAR442501 aims to recruit 36 patients in regions outside the United States, including Australia, China, and Spain, to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and efficacy of SAR442501 in pediatric subjects with achondroplasia.In July 2023, the IND for SAR442501 was accepted by the CDE.

2. Phase I Study of TGF-β Monoclonal Antibody SAR439459 for Osteogenesis Imperfecta
SAR439459 is a TGFβ monoclonal antibody. The purpose of this Phase 1 clinical study is to evaluate the effect of a single dose of SAR439459 on patients withOsteogenesis ImperfectaSafety, Tolerability, and Activity in Adult Participants.

3. PH4H-targeted gene therapy SAR444836 for the treatment of phenylketonuria in Phase I researchStudy
This is a Phase 1/2, single-arm, open-label study,ResearchThe Safety and Efficacy of SAR444836, an Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) Vector-Mediated Human Phenylalanine Hydroxylase (PAH) Gene Transfer Drug, for Treating Adult Patients with Phenylketonuria (PKU) on Long-Term, Stable Dietary Management in Reducing Phenylalanine (Phe) Levels and Eliminating Phe-Restricted Diets.

2024 H1 Performance Shows: Revenue in the first half of the year totaled 21.209 billion euros, a year-on-year increase of 5.1%, with a net profit of 2.246 billion euros, a year-on-year decrease of 34.5%. In the second quarter, revenue was 10.745 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 7.8%, and net profit was 1.113 billion euros, a year-on-year decrease of 22.4%.

By region,2024 H1 Revenue in the U.S. Region: €9.067 billion, a year-on-year increase of 13.4%; Revenue in the European Region: €4.882 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 3.2%; Revenue in Other Regions: €7.26 billion, a year-on-year increase of 11%, including revenue in China of €1.522 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2.8%.


Based on the product,Dupixent (dupilumab) is the top revenue-generating product,2024 Q2 Dupixent Sales Revenue Reached €3.303 Billion, a Year-on-Year Increase of 29.2%;Sales in the first half of the year reached 6.138 billion euros, a year-on-year increase of 27.1%.Expected to achieve approximately €13 billion in sales by 2024.

Sales of other drugs are as follows, mostly for rare diseases:

Sanofi's general medicine pipeline consists mostly of older products, with Lantus (insulin glargine) serving as the basal insulin and being the cornerstone product in Sanofi's blood glucose-lowering pipeline, achieving sales of 758 million euros in the first half of the year. Additionally, insulin glargine (Toujeo) and agalsidase beta (Fabrazyme) are also major contributors to revenue, each exceeding 500 million US dollars. Details are shown in the table below:

Besides Pfizer, Merck, and GlaxoSmithKline, Sanofi is also one of the largest global vaccine suppliers, with total vaccine sales reaching €1.348 billion in H1 2024: Polio/Pertussis/Hib series vaccines generated €1.348 billion, representing a year-on-year decrease of 2.9%.Sales of Meningitis, Travel and Endemics vaccines reached 580 million euros, representing a year-on-year increase of 3.9%; RSV vaccine sales amounted to 200 million euros, while influenza vaccine sales reached 188 million euros, marking a year-on-year increase of 27.2%.
