IHS Raises ¥10M in Angel Round of Financing

According to VCBeat, recently, Shenzhen Intelligent Haptronic Solutions Inc. ("IHS") raised millions of yuan in the angel round from Initial Science Value Investment and Aplus Labs. Proceeds from the latest round will be used for product development and market expansion.


Headquartered in Metro Vancouver Canada and Shenzhen China, IHS is a fast-growing robotic technology startup company. Its obsession is to develop a robotic platform that provides the best touch sensation to many applications such as medical, education, and entertainment. IHS has a team of industry-leading researchers and experienced engineers that thrive on advancing Haptic, VR and AI technology. 


Currently, IHS is focusing on research and development of the robotic touch technology platform to be applied to the digestive endoscopy surgical training simulation system. 


IHS is in partnership with multiple well-known hospitals including the department of gastroenterology, Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital which will provide clinical trial and evaluation platforms for product development.


Since its establishment 3 years ago, IHS has launched its core product—the training robot for gastrointestinal endoscopy, with a number of American and Chinese invention patents and software copyrights. The training robot for developed by IHS will be commercially available in September this year, based on robot haptic technology, VR, cloud computing and AI, said Tang Zhaoming, founder of IHS. 


The training robot consists of the HIS simulation terminal of gastrointestinal endoscopy, the IHS expert system and cloud service platform. Relying on the cloud service platform, top-secret data including medical pathology, image data and intelligent analysis for surgical training, and algorithms are stored in the cloud. 


When users put the operating handle into the equipment, they will get real-time force feedback, which makes the texture of the gastrointestinal wall and the lesion very similar to the real situation by VR. When touching the stimulated wall and lesion, the image will give corresponding deformation and sound.
