Huang Yiran, Bachelor of Peking University, Postdoctoral Fellow of the University of Hong Kong, studied under Professor Li Xiaoyu, a senior expert in DNA-encoded compound libraries, currently serves as the head of DEL live cell screening and functional screening at Shenzhen NewDEL Biotech Co., Ltd. He has long been engaged in the research of DNA-encoded compound libraries, specializing in the development of screening methods for DNA-encoded compound libraries, particularly in the development of novel screening methods based on live cells. With nearly a decade of experience in the field of DNA-encoded compound libraries, he has published multiple papers as the first author in top international journals such as Nat. Chem., applied for several related invention patents, and participated in various national and Hong Kong fund projects.
Shenzhen NewDEL Biotech Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "NewDEL Biotech") is a clinical-stage innovative drug research and development company incubated and controlled by the Guangdong Small Molecule New Drug Innovation Center. The company was established in April 2021 and has a full-industry-chain team for innovative drug discovery and development, with over 20% of the R&D team holding PhDs.
NewDEL Biotech has built a drug discovery platform from scratch (referred to as "DEL+X") for different types of drugs, based on its independently developed DNA-Encoded Library (DEL) technology for new drug screening. By integrating artificial intelligence drug discovery (DEL+AI), PROTAC drug development (DEL+PROTAC), and PDC technologies, the company has constructed a physical molecule library comprising over 100 billion molecules across more than a hundred types. This allows for rapid and efficient screening of various targets and different types of molecules. Additionally, NewDEL Biotech's proprietary DEL live-cell screening technology enables the screening of challenging targets located on cell surfaces or those that are difficult to isolate and purify. This significantly expands the range of target screening and improves the hit rate of active compound screening by conducting screenings that are closer to physiological conditions.
Targeting unmet clinical needs, NewDEL Biotech focuses on the development and industrialization of innovative drugs for cancer, autoimmune, and neurological diseases. Currently, the company has over 20 pipelines at various stages of development, among which four projects targeting advanced solid tumors, organ fibrosis, and atopic dermatitis are undergoing Phase I clinical trials.
To date, NewDEL Biotech has 52 invention patents, with 9 authorized patents. NewDEL Biotech has been recognized as a "2023 Shenzhen Specialized, Fine, Distinctive and Innovative Small and Medium-sized Enterprise."
