On August 27, 2024, GSK registered a Phase I clinical trial for its RSV mRNA vaccine on the Clinicaltrials.gov website.

This Phase I clinical trial plans to enroll 210 healthy adult volunteers aged 18-45, with an expected completion in 2026.

This Phase I clinical trial is an exploratory study that will test six different designs of RSV mRNA vaccines.

The first five vaccines adopt a 2-dose immunization schedule with a 1-month interval, while the sixth vaccine adopts a single-dose immunization schedule.

Summary
GSK's recombinant RSV vaccine is the world's first RSV vaccine and also the RSV vaccine with the highest protection rate. In the mRNA vaccine field, GSK's COVID-19 and influenza vaccines are already in Phase II clinical trials. The development of the RSV mRNA vaccine may subsequently move towards the direction of developing combination vaccines for respiratory viruses.
