According to the agreement, Xellar Biosystems will combine its expertise in organ-on-a-chip, AI disease modeling, drug testing, and development with Gnotobio's industry-leading integrated experimental animal platform. Leveraging Xbiome’s strengths in microbiome drug development and consumer product innovation, the three parties will jointly explore and develop more accurate preclinical models to advance innovative projects related to the human microbiome. These projects will involve multiple R&D fields such as target validation, preclinical toxicology and efficacy studies, and strain screening, achieving the dual goals of scientific research and commercialization.
Through this collaboration, Xellar Biosystems will start with gut-on-a-chip to develop multiple models for studying the role of the "microbiota-gut-brain axis" in gut function, neural function, and neurological diseases, while further exploring the mechanisms of microbiota and tumor organoids. At the same time, Xellar Biosystems and Xbiome will collaborate on organ-on-a-chip and gut microbiota in areas such as personalized medicine and consumer products, conducting comprehensive commercial exploration in both serious medical treatment and consumer healthcare.
Dr. Xie Xin, Co-founder and CEO of Xellar BiosystemsWe are pleased to collaborate with Xbiome and Gnotobio to explore the application of preclinical models, such as organ-on-a-chip, in the development of gut microbiota drugs and consumer products. As one of China's leading microecological drug companies, Xbiome has made significant advances in AI drug discovery, microbial technology, bioinformatics, and synthetic biology. Gnotobio is one of China’s premier comprehensive animal model platforms, and we look forward to accelerating the commercial application of organ-on-a-chip technology in this field through our partnership.
Tang Yan, Ph.D., Co-founder and CEO of XbiomeXellar Biosystems has deep technical accumulation and capabilities in combining organ-on-a-chip with AI, and has gathered the world's top teams from both the R&D and industrial ends of organ chip technology. Gnotobio is an important strategic layout by Xbiome to build an AI microbiome research and industrial transformation platform. We believe that the deep integration of AI microbiome + organ-on-a-chip + animal models will provide comprehensive solutions with greater commercial value for both the microbiome healthcare and consumer products industries.
Gnotobio General Manager Daoqiang ZhuangRepresentatives: Xellar Biosystems and Xbiome are among the leading teams in China in the fields of organ-on-a-chip + AI and microbiome technology + AI, respectively. We are honored to collaborate with them to advance the integration of animal models and organ-on-a-chip technologies, providing a new generation of solutions for the development and evaluation of microbial agents.
