Mr. Hao, the current head of customer interaction business model in the field of hemato-oncology treatment, will be appointed as the Vice President of Emerging Pipeline starting from September 1, 2024., Email notification as follows:
Dear colleagues,
As an innovation-driven global biotechnology company, Roche is committed to continuously exploring the transformation of cutting-edge scientific discoveries into disease diagnostics and therapeutic drugs, saving lives and improving human quality of life. With its outstanding and sustained innovation capabilities, Roche Pharmaceuticals has a differentiated product portfolio in oncology, immunology, infectious diseases, ophthalmology, and neuroscience, and is constantly expanding Roche's leadership into more therapeutic areas.
China is an important market in Roche's global strategic layout, possessing tremendous potential and opportunities. To strongly promote the realization of Roche China’s 2030 vision, while continuing to deepen our presence in existing disease areas through the Green Bamboo Plan and striving to benefit more patients, the company has also launched the Mount Everest Plan. This initiative aims to deeply understand new therapeutic fields, explore innovative business promotion and commercialization models, and support the successful introduction of emerging pipelines into China. Based on these business objectives, we are pleased to announce that Mr. Hao Shi, currently the Head of Customer Interaction Business Model for the Hemato-Oncology Treatment Area, will be appointed as Vice President of Emerging Pipelines effective September 1, 2024. Starting with the soon-to-be-developed Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) field, he will lead the exploration of innovative business models. He will become a member of Roche China’s Executive Team (CNET) and report directly to Ms. Xin Bian, President of Roche Pharmaceuticals China. Effective immediately, the position of Head of the Hemato-Oncology Treatment Area will be open for both internal and external recruitment. Mr. Hao Shi will concurrently serve as the Head of the Hematology Treatment Area until his successor assumes the role.
Mr. Shi Hao has over 20 years of professional experience and possesses extensive expertise in market promotion and commercial operations within the oncology and specialty medicine fields, along with profound business and team management skills. He has led his team to participate in and promote the launches of several innovative drugs, including Polivy, Crovalimab, Zanubrutinib, Blinatumomab, and Aubagio, benefiting a large number of patients in China. In September 2022, Mr. Shi joined Roche and built a highly effective team with a strong performance culture in his role as head of the hemato-oncology treatment division. Under his leadership, he successfully drove the exceptional launches of Polivy and Crovalimab, earning the first-ever Roche Pharmaceuticals International Impact Award. More crucially, over the past two years, the hemato-oncology team leveraged the power of the "Research Triad" and closely collaborated with the medical affairs team to initiate multiple high-quality research partnerships in core hospitals specializing in lymphoma, establishing a solid medical foundation for the application of new products among Chinese patients. During the out-of-pocket payment phase for Polivy and Crovalimab, the hemato-oncology team actively explored social-commercial models, working closely with the market access team to address patient affordability challenges, ensuring early patient access to these new therapies. Additionally, through close collaboration with the multi-channel ecosystem team, lymphoma patients received comprehensive disease management and services, significantly enhancing standardized diagnostic and treatment practices.
Mr. Hao Shi has served in several large multinational and domestic pharmaceutical companies before joining Roche, including BeiGene, Sanofi, AstraZeneca, Novartis, Roche, and Eisai Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Shi graduated from Fudan University in Shanghai with a bachelor's degree in pharmacy.
Let us extend our warm congratulations to Mr. Shi Hao on his new appointment, which represents Roche Pharma China's significant commitment to the development of internal talent. We look forward to his continued achievements in his new role, driving innovation and enhancing collaboration to boost efficiency. This will further enable Roche Pharma China to achieve outstanding performance with a more agile and innovative model in emerging fields, benefiting more patients while pursuing excellence and setting sights on long-term success.
Bian Xin
