Gelonghui September 5 | Abbott launched the over-the-counter continuous glucose monitoring system Lingo in the United States, just days after its competitor Dexcom began selling a similar product. The company said on Thursday that Lingo is aimed at consumers aged 18 and above who do not use insulin, and offers three payment options — $49 for two weeks, $89 for four weeks, and $249 for 12 weeks. Lingo can track blood sugar levels in real time and provide personalized insights to improve overall health. Abbott received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Lingo in June. The product has been available in the UK since January, priced at £120-150 per month (approximately $152-190).
