It is understood that three months ago, Ms. Ma suddenly experienced palpitations, followed by syncope and loss of consciousness, causing her to fall to the ground. She visited another hospital but the cause of the condition was not identified. Subsequently, she had several episodes and sought medical advice from various sources without a clear diagnosis. As Ms. Ma’s symptoms have occurred frequently over the past three months, after consulting multiple sources, she specifically sought treatment at the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University.
Ms. Ma was seen by the experienced Dr. Zhenhua Xia. After Director Wei Teng and his team from the Internal Medicine Department thoroughly reviewed the patient's medical history and the details of this episode, and ruled out other potential causes, they recommended that Ms. Ma undergo a long-term dynamic electrocardiogram (ECG) test. He performed a treatment strategy involving PVI (pulmonary vein isolation) and muscular sleeve potential intervention on the patient's pulmonary veins, achieving bilateral pulmonary vein isolation with verified bidirectional block. Subsequently, considering the influence of the superior vena cava trigger, pulse ablation was used to intervene in the superior vena cava. Post-ablation verification indicated good results, reaching the endpoint. The total operation time was 68 minutes, with an ablation time of 15 minutes and a total X-ray exposure time of 3 minutes.The patient remained fully awake throughout the procedure, tolerated it well, experienced no significant pain or discomfort, and the surgery was successfully completed.
