The press conference brought together leading medical experts from around the world and held a panel discussion on the future of robotics and artificial intelligence in healthcare. The conversation, titled "The Future of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare – Global and Asian Perspectives," highlighted how robotics and AI technologies are transforming healthcare, as well as the unique challenges and opportunities within Asia's diverse healthcare landscape, where rapid population growth and extended life expectancy are driving demand for more personalized and complex treatments. The discussion also included the current readiness of healthcare organizations, professionals, and systems to adopt robotic and AI technologies, as well as anticipated efforts to facilitate this adoption.

Advances in robotic and artificial intelligence medical technology have demonstrated significant improvements in patient outcomes, including reduced complications, faster recovery times, and enhanced precision in surgical interventions. However, despite notable economic growth in some parts of Asia, providing equitable and accessible healthcare remains a persistent challenge in the region.
Medtronic Eurasia (Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific) Senior Vice President and President Majid Kaddoumi emphasized the strategic importance of this expansion to accelerate the adoption of advanced medical solutions and improve access to quality healthcare services across Asia. "By strengthening our presence in the region, we are not only entering the world's fastest-growing markets but also fostering a collaborative ecosystem. The Robotics Experience Center will enable Medtronic to work closely with local stakeholders, including healthcare providers, academia, industry forums, and governments, to bring new technologies closer to Asia, thereby improving patient outcomes."
EDB Managing Director Jacqueline Poh expressed strong support for the initiative, stating: "Medtronic has recognized Singapore's role as a leading center for healthcare innovation and talent in the Asia-Pacific region. The Robotics Experience Studio builds on Medtronic’s manufacturing and regional headquarters activities in Singapore to meet the evolving needs of customers in the healthcare robotics and artificial intelligence fields. We look forward to deepening our long-term partnership with Medtronic."
Medtronic Asia Regional Lead Market Vice President Feng Dong stated, "Driven by demographic changes and the growing demand for advanced medical technologies, Asia's healthcare sector is poised for significant growth. Breaking down physical barriers in education and opening up new experiential domains is crucial. The Robotics Experience Center is an effort by Medtronic to bring technology to the market and support skill enhancement in Southeast Asia. We look forward to making meaningful contributions to improving healthcare accessibility and meeting Asia’s increasing demand for skills development and more efficient healthcare services. We believe our innovative approach to medical and surgical education will shape the future of healthcare, transform patient care and outcomes, and positively impact the health results of millions across Asia."
In 2022, Medtronic launched the Medtronic Customer Experience Center (MCXC) in Singapore, utilizing innovative healthcare technologies such as extended reality (XR), augmented reality, virtual reality, and robotics to connect the global healthcare community anytime, anywhere.
MCXC's networking capabilities are a first for Medtronic in Asia, bringing together healthcare professionals (HCPs) from around the world to ideate, share, and learn using cutting-edge virtual technology. It also provides them with immersive learning experiences, round-the-clock remote training, and future healthcare technologies and innovations.

Since the opening of MCXC in November 2022, Medtronic has made significant progress in medical education and skill enhancement., more than 2,000 healthcare professionals (HCP) have been trained in Asia, with nearly 1,400 training and experiential sessions conducted. The addition of the Robotics Experience Studio aims to expand its reach further by providing HCPs with cutting-edge resources to hone their skills in robotic-assisted procedures and artificial intelligence (AI) applications.
MCXC is renowned for its innovative medical training methods, offering a unique, organization-free and cadaver-free experience. The center provides more than 20 different training platforms, utilizing various advanced simulator models to deliver comprehensive education. The Micra XR training program adopts a blended learning approach, combining holographic procedural animations with relevant physical models. This method enables healthcare professionals to gain an in-depth understanding of the therapeutic principles and applications of the Micra leadless pacemaker. To date, the Micra XR training application has been approved in 155 countries and has attracted nearly 1,550 healthcare professionals from diverse countries such as the Philippines, Singapore, Egypt, South Africa, Poland, and Hungary.
