Obesity is a chronic progressive disease that currently affects more than 1 billion people worldwide, and it is projected that by 2035, more than half of the global population will be obese or overweight.1,2,3However, this chronic disease is often misunderstood by the public, and its diagnosis, medical treatment, insurance, and long-term care levels are far lower than those of other chronic diseases. Obesity can lead to other illnesses, with up to 5 million people dying each year from cardiovascular diseases (CVD), cancer, diabetes, and other chronic diseases attributable to obesity.3,4,5The average life expectancy of men and women may be reduced by 5.8 years and 7.1 years, respectively, due to obesity.6。Eli Lilly and Company is making relentless efforts to develop disease solutions for obese and overweight patients, and is committed to promoting evidence-based treatment models for obesity and ensuring that patients receive appropriate treatment. This year, we have already had innovative drugs approved in China, and we will continue to actively work with the government, industry, and partners to jointly establish a new model for efficient, evidence-based long-term weight management.

As the global population continues to age, Alzheimer's disease has become an increasingly severe global health crisis. It is estimated that 32 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's disease and have confirmed amyloid pathology changes.7。We believe that the earlier patients are detected and diagnosed, the more likely they are to benefit from new treatments. Early diagnosis and treatment of early symptomsADPatients have the potential to significantly slow disease progression, providing them with valuable time to maintain their independence for a longer period. Eli Lilly and Company is committed to collaborating with China's health system and regulatory authorities to continuously strengthen the diagnosis and treatment system for Alzheimer's disease, aiming for early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and management of the condition.35In recent years, Eli Lilly and Company has invested in the Alzheimer's disease field.80More than billions of dollars, with over110,000 patients participated in the clinical trial, including patients from China.Currently, we have an innovative Alzheimer's disease drug under review and approval by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), and we hope it can benefit patients in China as soon as possible.
