Small Nucleic Acid Drug Developer
Recently, Suzhou Ribo Life Science Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Ribo Life Science") independently developed the siRNA drug RBD7007 targeting C5, which has obtained EU clinical trial approval and will initiate its first human clinical trial in Sweden.

C5, as one of the key components of the complement system, plays a role in innate immunity, participates in immune protection of the body, and modulates adaptive immune responses. The development and progression of various immune and complement-related diseases, including IgA nephropathy and other complement immune-related conditions, have been confirmed to be associated with the abnormal activation of C5. However, currently approved antibody drugs targeting C5 have issues with short half-lives and limited durations of sustained efficacy.

RBD7007 is a product of Ribo Life Science based on RIBO-GalSTAR.TMRBD7007, an siRNA drug independently developed by the liver-targeting technology platform targeting C5, inhibits the expression of the C5 protein and blocks the activation of the complement pathway to achieve its therapeutic effect on complement-mediated diseases. Preclinical trial data show that RBD7007 has a lasting and potent inhibitory effect on complement pathway activation while demonstrating good safety, with the expectation of bringing significant therapeutic benefits to patients with IgA nephropathy and other complement-mediated diseases.
This Phase I clinical trial is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase I study designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of RBD7007 in healthy subjects with single-dose escalation and multiple-dose escalation. The results of the trial will support dose selection and dosing regimens for future Phase II clinical trials in patients.
Ribo Life Science has multiple products based on RIBO-GalSTARTMRibo Life Science has advanced its siRNA drugs into clinical stages, covering disease areas including cardiometabolic disorders, liver diseases, and immune-related conditions. Ribo Life Science will continue to deepen its expertise and provide patients with more innovative siRNA drugs.
