Eli Lilly Sells Majority Stake in Automated Life Sciences Studio to Arctoris

In 2017, Eli Lilly invested $90 million to establish the Eli Lilly Biotechnology Center in San Diego, which includes 11,500 square feet of Life Sciences Studio laboratory space.

Through this acquisition, Arctoris will add five new automated biochemical modules, a new high-throughput screening module, and an additional automated BSL2 cell biology module. Arctoris will also increase its compound storage capacity to 4 million compounds. Arctoris stated that these expansions will shorten the timelines of customer projects and address issues of reproducibility and data ambiguity caused by manual laboratory methods.
