New Drug Developer

Global Pharmaceutical R&D and Production Company
On October 10, KeyBioscience and Eli Lilly and Company have agreedExpand cooperation in the development of DACRA (dual amylin/calcitonin receptor agonist),This is a new class of potential drugs for the treatment of obesity and related diseases.
According to the terms of the extension agreement,Eli Lilly to Obtain Global Rights to Develop and Commercialize DACRA Molecules。KeyBioscience to Receive Initial Payment, Downstream ConsiderationTotaling up to 1.4 billion US dollars, but certain development, regulatory and commercialization milestones must be achieved; And a mid-single-digit to low-double-digit tiered royalty on net sales.
This collaboration expands Eli Lilly's rights to KeyBioscience's DACRA platform, which includes a new molecule expected to enter phase 2 studies for obesity and osteoarthritis (OA) patients later this year. KeyBioscience will conduct and complete the study, which plans to enroll 600 participants with primary endpoints of weight loss and osteoarthritis pain relief.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), over 1 billion people worldwide suffer from obesity. Morgan Stanley predicts that the global obesity market will reach $77 billion by 2030.
Despite ongoing advancements in treatment options, significant gaps remain, particularly in addressing obesity-related complications such as osteoarthritis. According to the WHO, osteoarthritis affects over 600 million people worldwide, a considerable portion of whom suffer from obesity. Osteoarthritis causes severe joint pain and limits mobility. Research has confirmed that weight loss can alleviate these symptoms. As a potential new therapy,DACRA may offer a two-pronged approach: promoting weight loss and directly targeting the molecular pathways that drive osteoarthritis progression.。
Research on the AMY/CALCR target is advancing at a rapid pace. To meet the demand for AMY/CALCR-related drug development, KeyBioscience has constructed an AMY3 reporter gene assay cell line based on the target's signal transduction mechanism, accelerating the drug screening process. For inquiries, please contact Jiman Customer Service via WeChat: 18916119826!
