The full lifecycle management of balloon-expandable valves takes into account various aspects such as paravalvular leakage, coronary access, conduction block, stroke during the perioperative period, and long-term vascular complications, valve durability, coronary reintervention, and repeat TAVI, among others. A personalized surgical plan should be developed to maximize the benefits for the patient.

The metals of self-expanding valves and balloon-expandable valve stents are different, one emphasizes memory, the other emphasizes radial support. For self-expanding valve products, post-dilation is needed if there is a pressure gradient in cases such as severe bicuspid valve calcification or unsatisfactory pre-dilation; for balloon-expandable valve products, they are well-formed and can be completed in one step, usually without the need for post-dilation.
