Pfizer Appoints Mortimer J. Buckley to Board of Directors

On October 15, Pfizer announced that Mortimer J. Buckley (“Tim”) J. Buckley was elected as a member of the Board of Directors, effective immediately. Buckley, aged 55, will also join the Governance & Sustainability Committee and the Audit Committee of Pfizer’s Board of Directors. With Buckley’s addition, Pfizer’s Board of Directors will consist of 14 members, 13 of whom are independent directors.

Mr. BuckleyServed as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Vanguard Group from 2018 to 2024Previously, he served as Vanguard's Chief Investment Officer, overseeing the company’s internally managed stock, bond, and money market portfolios, as well as investment research and methodology. Mr. Buckley joined the Vanguard Group in 1991 and has held various senior leadership positions, including Chief Information Officer and Head of the Retail Investor Group. Outside of Vanguard, he also served as Chairman of the Board of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (2011–2017).

Mr. Buckley holds a Bachelor of Economics from Harvard University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
