October 21, 2024Okami Medical Announces Completion$32.5 million (approximately 227 million RMB) in financing, led by new investor Vensana Capital, with US Venture Partners, Okami Medical board members, and other seasoned professionals from the medical device industry following suit.

This funding will be used forFurther development and commercialization of its peripheral vascular occlusion catheter technology, especially its LOBO^®Vascular Occlusion System, to address challenges in peripheral vascular interventions, improve procedural efficiency, and potentially save lives in cases of trauma and unstable bleeding.

# LOBO Vascular Closure Device

LOBO Vascular Occluder is an innovative medical device developed by Okami Medical. The system utilizes proprietary HDBRAID technology to provide a high-porosity density vascular occluder for the treatment of peripheral vascular diseases, such as peripheral bleeding, aneurysms, and tumor embolization.

Compared with traditional vascular closure devices, the LOBO system has the following characteristics:

Low Aperture Design:Pore Density of LOBO OccluderFour times higher than other weaving methods, with smaller poresThis significantly helps reduce blood flow, accelerate hemostasis, and promote thrombosis. Utilizing proprietary HDBRAID technology—an innovative braiding method specifically developed for manufacturing vascular occlusion devices. Using this technique, braided devices can be made with wires smaller than 20 microns in diameter—only one-quarter the thickness of a human hair.

Multi-functional Design:Three-disc design enhances the shielding effect of HDBRAID technology; excellent trackability in small and tortuous vessels; efficient occlusion capability adaptable to various curved vessels.

Self-expansion:LOBO Occluder is a microcatheter that canNavigate smoothly through peripheral vessels, including tortuous vessels, and self-expand to adapt to the shape of the target vessel upon reaching the destination.

Multi-disc Design:This design enhances the blocking effect,Provides a dense pore structure spanning the vascular lumen`, laying the foundation for effective treatment.`

One-touch mechanical separation:The occluder can be accurately and immediately released at the target position, improving the efficiency and safety of the surgery.

User-Friendly:LOBO System is compatible with thin microcatheters,Can occlude vessels as small as 1.5 millimeters, with a visualized radiopaque marker band for easy positioning and retrieval during surgery.

Currently, multiple models of the LOBO system have been launched in the market, includingLOBO-3(Applicable to 1.5-3.5mm vessels),LOBO-5(Applicable to 3-5mm blood vessels),LOBO-7 and LOBO-9(Applicable for occlusion of larger vessel diameters). These products have received FDA 510(k) clearance, demonstrating their safety and effectiveness.
