Roche Reports Q3 2024 Results: Pharmaceutical Sales Reach CHF 34.3 Billion in First Nine Months, China Up 8%

On October 23, Roche announced its Q3 report,In the first nine months, pharmaceutical sales reached 34.3 billion Swiss francs, growing by 7%., Basic Business(Excluding COVID-19)Growth of 9%; In the third quarter, achieved sales growth of 9%(6% in Swiss francs), remaining the same as the second quarter.
Among them,Sales in China Increase by 8%Mainly benefited from Xofluza, Perjeta, Polivy, and Avastin.
Global sales of diagnostic services increased by 5%, while basic operations(Excluding COVID-19)Sales grew by 8% due to increased demand for immuno-diagnostics, pathology, and molecular solutions.

The growth in the pharmaceuticals business was mainly driven by increased sales of Vabysmo (severe eye diseases), Phesgo (breast cancer), Ocrevus (multiple sclerosis), Hemlibra (hemophilia), and Polivy (blood cancer). These five drugsTotal sales reached 13.2 billion Swiss francs, an increase of 2.7 billion Swiss francs (CER) compared to the first nine months of 2023.
Vabysmo, the eye drug launched in early 2022, continued to be a major growth driver, with sales reaching 2.8 billion Swiss francs due to growing demand across regions.

Due to the further weakening of biosimilar competition, the combined sales of Avastin, Herceptin, and MabThera/Rituxan decreased by 500 million Swiss francs.
Compared to CHF 500 million in the first nine months of 2023, the sales of the COVID-19 drug Ronapreve were negligible.
