Recently, Larry Jones announced that he will retire from Johnson & Johnson's medical device business.When asked about when he would officially leave or whether there would be someone to replace him, he said that he would share more details when the information could be made public. Jones is a goal-oriented leader who drives transformative change through key principles such as business process integration, agile methodologies, and next-generation technology solutions. He focuses on advancing Johnson & Johnson's oncology, orthopedics, cardiovascular, and general surgery robotics and machine learning platforms to promote digital surgical connectivity solutions.He served as the cross-regional Global Chief Information Officer at Janssen Pharmaceuticals for over 6 years.He is an executive member of the Johnson & Johnson African American Leadership Council and the Johnson & Johnson Regional Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Council, and also a member of the Healthcare Industry Advisory Boards of Microsoft and Verizon. In 2019, Jones was honored by ITSMF and the Harlem Fine Arts Festival for his lifetime achievements as an African American in the technology field. He was also nominated as the 2019 New York/New Jersey CIO of the Year by InspireCIO.
Jones holds a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering/MBA from the University of Pennsylvania and Wharton School. He also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Saint Peter’s University.

Jones wrote on LinkedIn: "After an incredible 35 years at Johnson & Johnson, I am beginning to reflect on the extraordinary journey we have shared."
"For friends and partners along the way, this is not a farewell — just 'see you later,'" he later added, expressing that he is about to embark on "an exciting new chapter in life and career."

"I would like to sincerely thank my family for their unwavering support, especially my wife—my coach, whose love and encouragement are invaluable to me," he continued. "I also want to thank my father, who is a great and humble role model. He instilled in me a strong and resilient work ethic."
"As I embark on this exciting new chapter in my life and career, I remain committed to harnessing technology for the benefit of humanity, advancing global health equity, and combating chronic diseases," Jones concluded.
On his LinkedIn page, Jones stated that his recent accomplishments include "completing a three-year, $200 million global digital transformation initiative to drive lean business processes, cloud-based solutions, and integrated insights."
