According to VCBeat, Beijing Changmugu Medical Technology Co., Ltd ("Changmugu Medical"), a provider of AI-powered solutions in orthopedics, recently announced that it had closed a Series A+ round worth tens of millions from Lenovo Capital and Incubator Group. WinX Capital acted as the financial adviser.
Founded in 2017, Changmugu Medical focuses on orthopedic artificial intelligence, providing a series of artificial intelligence solutions for the whole process of orthopedic surgery, including preoperative evaluation, surgical planning, 3D printing, and customized surgical navigation guiding.
In November 2019, Changmugu Medical got tens of millions of yuan in seed round financing, led by Frees Fund. Then the company completed the Pre-A financing led by Legend Star. In April 2020, it closed a Series A funding round worth 10 million yuan.
Dr. Zhang Yiling, CEO of Changmugu Medical, said, "The proceeds will be used for the R&D of new orthopedics AI and surgical navigation products, the development in core technologies, the application of NMPA medical device registration certificate, the launch of products, and the construction of talent teams. Changmugu Medical continues to build precision medical solutions, covering the pain points of the orthopedic industry, and further enrich the product portfolio."
Changmugu Medical has independently developed "AI Joint", an AI-based solution used in surgery, consisting of the "AI HIP" system and "AI KNEE" system, which can provide doctors with full preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative process of Joint replacement surgery, with high precision and safety in orthopedic surgery.
Changmugu Medical has established in-depth cooperation with Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices Companies ("JJMDC") in the field of digitization and intelligence of orthopedic joint, including the project of AI-assisted 3D surgery in China.
