Gelonghui November 20 | Pfizer, Inc. said on Wednesday that it has appointed Chris Boshoff, a veteran of the company, as head of research and development. Boshoff will assume the role of Chief Scientific Officer from January 1, overseeing R&D across all therapeutic areas. Over the past year, Boshoff has led Pfizer's oncology drug research and marketing efforts and supervised the integration of the company with Seagen. Mikael Dolsten, Pfizer’s former Chief Scientific Officer and a key figure in the development of the COVID-19 vaccine, stepped down earlier this year after more than 15 years with the company. Activist investor Starboard criticized Pfizer's management for overspending on large acquisitions, failing to deliver profitable new drugs from these deals or from internal R&D.
