The conference began with an opening speech by the chairman, Academician Teng Gaojun. Academician Teng extended a warm welcome to the guests attending this symposium and emphasized the significant importance of the meeting! He pointed out that TACE treatment for liver cancer is continuously evolving, with standardization and refinement gradually becoming key focuses in clinical practice. This is crucial for overcoming TACE heterogeneity, improving clinical outcomes, and benefiting patients. Subsequently, the co-chair of the meeting, Professor Zou Yinghua, delivered an enthusiastic speech, warmly welcoming the attendees. Speaker: Professor Wen Zhang, Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University

Professor Zhang Wen expounded on the concept and practical key points of precision embolization applied in transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) for liver cancer, including comprehensive patient management, pre-selection of TACE types, precise super-selective catheterization during the procedure, the application of CBCT, reasonable selection of embolic materials, and determination of the endpoint of embolization. Professor Zhang then pointed out, through case analysis, that precision embolization is of great significance in improving the clinical efficacy of TACE.

Professor Hu Hongtao introduced the development history of "bionic core-shell" embolic microspheres. He pointed out that the unique bionic core-shell structure brings a comprehensive improvement in performance, making this microsphere possess excellent mechanical energy absorption, rapid drug-loading capacity, and long-lasting efficacy. The developers have simultaneously laid out multiple such structural microspheres. The latest precise and uniform particle size drug-loading embolic microsphere—Yue Yuan—has made significant improvements in drug-loading capacity and particle size uniformity, making it the preferred embolic material for precision embolization surgeries.

Professor Shi Liangrong introduced the performance characteristics of 1.6F precision microcatheters and uniformly sized drug-loaded microspheres, and focused on sharing cases of using them to perform ss-TACE. In his summary, Professor Shi emphasizedIt was pointed out that the 1.6F microcatheter has a small diameter, allowing it to deeply super-selectively reach the distal end of the tumor's blood-supplying arteries. The uniformly sized drug-loaded microspheres exhibit excellent performance, completing drug loading in 1 minute, which can significantly shorten operation time. When used together, they facilitate the implementation of ss-TACE.
