MoyoAssist® Extra-VADIt is the first domestically produced extracorporeal fully magnetically levitated artificial heart in China, developed by Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology.Professor Dong Nianguo's TeamAn innovative product co-developed through collaborative innovation and joint research efforts with magAssist. This product utilizes full magnetic levitation technology to achieve zero-contact operation of the blood pump impeller.Directly avoid mechanical friction, significantly reduce blood damage, with advantages such as small size, light weight, and excellent blood compatibility, it can provide comprehensive circulatory support for patients with acute heart failure, especially for post-surgical low cardiac output, bridge to heart transplantation, acute cardiogenic shock, and biventricular failure.
MoyoAssist® The clinical trial results of Extra-VAD show that it isExcellent performance in low shear stress and high blood compatibility, the force distribution within the pump maintains over 90% of the area below 50 Pa, ensuring the safety of blood flow inside the pump. The blood residence time in the secondary flow path is less than 0.5 seconds, preventing blood stagnation and reducing the risk of thrombosis. Additionally, the hydraulic design of the device can adapt to a wide range of application scenarios, and the test results suggestMoyoAssist® Extra-VADDemonstrates higher hemocompatibility, not only significantly improving patient survival rates but also effectively reducing the risk of complications such as hemolysis and thrombosis. As a high-end life support device independently developed in China, MoyoAssist® Extra-VAD was approved for marketing by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in April this year, filling the gap in China's artificial heart field.

magAssist's innovative product portfolio in the field of mechanical circulatory assist technology demonstrates its strong R&D capabilities and forward-thinking approach in life support technology. Currently, the company has successfully launched several innovative devices, initially building an integrated and modular life support platform, with a product line includingFully Magnetically Levitated Artificial Heart MoyoAssist® Extra VAD, Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation System BreathMo® ECMO, Minimally Invasive Interventional Artificial HeartNyokAssist® pVAD, as well as platforms for pediatric and infant ECMO and warm-blood organ transport, etc.Initially completed the layout starting from heart failure and extending to multi-organ life support, while achieving multi-indication coverage for non-endpoint treatment of heart failure, multi-scenario coverage, and multi-age group coverage.
magAssist, with its innovative products, aims to create a flexible and diverse "life support toolbox" that can provide personalized and precise life support solutions based on the specific conditions and treatment needs of patients. This will address complex medical scenarios, helping to improve patients' chances of survival and quality of life.
Through the development and application of this series of cutting-edge technologies, magAssist has not only accelerated the progress of mechanical circulatory assist technology in China but also brought more efficient and reliable life support solutions to the global medical market. The innovative achievements of magAssist are providing new treatment options and hope for survival to patients worldwide.
At the closing of this year's ISMCS annual conference, ISMCS also announced an exciting piece of news: ISMCS 2026 will be held in China. Professor Xu Bolei from magAssist, the only Chinese member of the ISMCS Board of Directors, made significant contributions to securing the hosting rights for ISMCS 2026 in China. The venue for ISMCS 2026 is set to be Suzhou, China, with the tentative dates being October 22-24, 2026. This will be the first time that the ISMCS annual meeting is held in China since its inception, marking a recognition of China’s contributions in the field of mechanical circulatory support and foreshadowing an expanded role for China in this domain.
