November 25,Boston ScientificAnnounced agreement to acquire infusion pump manufacturer Intera Oncology, with the specific amount undisclosed. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2025.

It is reported that Intera Oncology has two core products.1. Hepatic artery infusion pump (Intera 3000); 2. Chemotherapy drug (floxuridine).Both have received FDA approval. The Intera 3000 can be used for hepatic artery infusion. (HAI) Treatment, mainly used for liver cancer caused by metastatic colorectal cancer.
Intera Oncology is an innovative medical device company headquartered in Boston, founded in 2019 by two doctors with a shared vision of improving survival rates for patients with colorectal cancer liver metastases and bile duct cancer by ensuring access to hepatic artery infusion therapy.
According to the press release,Intera 3000 remains the only FDA-approved constant-flow implantable pump for intrahepatic adjuvant therapy.
Boston Scientific stated that Intera is currently undergoing Phase II and Phase III studies to explore the use of this therapy in larger patient populations.

At the Investor Day event in September 2023, Boston Scientific emphasized that its focus on acquisitions is to strengthen its leadership position and accelerate its entry into faster-growing markets.
