Amgen Submits IND for MariTide (Maridebart Cafraglutide), a Bispecific Peptide-Antibody Conjugate Demonstrating 20% Average Weight Loss in Phase 2 Trial

2024-11-26 ，AmgenPositive results from a 52-week Phase 2 clinical trial of the drug MariTide (Maridebart Cafraglutide, AMG133) for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity were announced. The results showed that in obese or overweight individuals without type 2 diabetes, MariTide led to an average weight loss of approximately 20% at 52 weeks; in obese or overweight individuals with type 2 diabetes, MariTide resulted in an average weight loss of about 17% at 52 weeks, with HbA1c decreasing by up to 2.2 percentage points by week 52. Neither group experienced a weight-loss plateau. Additionally, Amgen announced the initiation of the MARITIME Phase 3 clinical program.
