Today, BioMap announced that the world's top expert in the field of artificial intelligence and the Chair Professor of Artificial Intelligence at Westlake University —Professor Li ZiqingAppointedChief Scientist of BioMap(Large AI Model).
Professor Li will guide and lead the research, development, and application of several large-scale AI model projects within the company, participate in the planning and execution of the company's overall technology strategy, and provide strategic support for cutting-edge innovation in the "AI for Life Science" field.
Professor Stan Z. Li is a world-renowned AI scholar, IEEE Fellow, and IPAR Fellow.
He has published more than 500 papers, cited over 73,000 times, with an H-Index of 149. Together with Yann LeCun and Andrew Ng, he ranks among the top ten global AI scholars. In the 2024 World Scientist and University Rankings, he ranked first globally in the "AI for Science" field.
He has served as the editor of several top journals in artificial intelligence, including《IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence》Associate Editor of IEEE T-PAMI and other important academic positions, consistently active on top-tier international AI academic platforms, enjoying widespread recognition in both the global academic community and the industry.
Professor Li has been a professor at Nanyang Technological University since 1991 and joined Microsoft Research Asia as a Lead Researcher in 2000, accumulating extensive experience in academic research and industry. He invented the world's first real-time facial recognition system. He has long served as a senior researcher at the State Key Laboratory of Pattern Recognition at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, leading the development of more than ten major national projects.
Joined Westlake University as a Chair Professor of Artificial Intelligence in 2019, leading the work of the AI Research and Innovation Lab at Westlake University, and has heavily invested in the AI + Life Science field, achieving a series of groundbreaking academic results.
Professor Li, as the project leader and chief scientist, has presided over two major projects of the national "New Generation Artificial Intelligence" initiative (AI + protein computation, drug design) and one key project of the Natural Science Foundation (AI + multi-omics analysis), becoming a frontier explorer in the field of AI + life science research.
