Unicet Biotech

Unicet Biotech was co-founded under the leadership of Professor Zhang Yonghui from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Tsinghua University. Professor Zhang has long been dedicated to researching the mechanisms by which metabolism regulates immunity and exploring novel immunotherapy strategies, with related findings published in prestigious academic journals such as Cell and Immunity. Notably, his pioneering work on the mechanisms by which γδ T cells recognize tumors and pathogens has laid a crucial foundation for the clinical application of γδ T cells. In 2019, with support from angel investor Tongfang Yiheng and Bugu Capital, Professor Zhang established Unicet Biotech, taking the lead in advancing the industrial development of γδ T cell therapies. Rooted in the founding team’s continuous and in-depth research accumulation in the field of γδ T cells, as well as their unique perspective on metabolic regulation of immunity, Unicet has developed multiple R&D pipelines, including allogeneic cell therapies, γδ T cell/BTN small-molecule drugs, and γδ T cell/BTN antibody drugs, to comprehensively explore the therapeutic potential of γδ T cells against tumors and infectious diseases. Currently, the company’s first cell therapy product has initiated regulatory filing for clinical trials.
