Invasive Brain-Computer Interface Developer
On July 7, Jiemian News learned that the “Implantable Brain-Computer Interface System for Compensating Hand Motor Function,” also known as the “Fully Implantable, Fully Wireless, and Fully Functional (‘Three-Full’) Brain-Computer Interface System,” independently developed by NeuroXess, has officially launched its Good Clinical Practice (GCP) registration clinical trial at Huashan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University. This GCP registration clinical trial adopts a multi-center collaborative model, jointly conducted with a total of 15 Grade A tertiary hospitals in Shanghai and other regions, to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the system in compensating for upper limb function in patients with quadriplegia caused by cervical spinal cord injury.
According to Jiemian News, this is the first subdural cortical surface implantable brain-computer interface (BCI) product to enter the clinical trial stage for Class III medical device registration in China, marking a critical step forward in transitioning China’s BCI technology from scientific exploration to large-scale clinical application.
