CSPC Joins Hands with AstraZeneca Again!


7Month2Day,CSPCAnnouncement: The Company Has Entered Into an Agreement withAstraZenecaSigned an AI drug discovery collaboration.


The two parties will establish a long-term strategic R&D collaboration focused on siRNA oligonucleotide therapeutics.

The announcement shows that CSPC will rely on its proprietaryAI-driven molecular design models and fully automated high-throughput screening systems enable the efficient identification of nucleic acid drug molecules with high activity and enhanced extrahepatic targeting potential.


In this collaboration, CSPCAn upfront payment of USD 30 million will be collected under this agreement, with the right to receive up to USD 540 million in potential R&D milestone payments and up to USD 1.2 billion in potential sales milestone payments,TotalValued at $1.77 billion.

Under the agreement, CSPC and AstraZeneca will jointly discover and develop preclinical candidate compounds (PCCs) targeting two distinct pathways for the treatment of kidney diseases. For each PCC program, AstraZeneca has the option to obtain exclusive global (or ex-China) rights for development, manufacturing, and commercialization, while CSPC retains the corresponding rights in China for one of the PCCs.

According to statistics from Zhiyaoju, this marks CSPC’s recent one-year [collaboration/interaction] with AstraZenecawithCSPCthe third timeAIPlatform collaboration, with a cumulative amount reaching up to $25.6 billion.
