CSPC Pharmaceutical Group (01093) Receives NMPA Approval to Initiate Clinical Trials for Recombinant Zoster Vaccine (SYS6052) in China

Zhitong Finance APP News: CSPC (01093) announced that the recombinant zoster vaccine (SYS6052) developed by the Group has been approved by the National Medical Products Administration of the People's Republic of China to conduct clinical trials in China.

This product is the Company’s first recombinant protein vaccine approved for clinical trials, comprising the varicella-zoster virus glycoprotein E (gE) antigen and a novel nanoadjuvant system independently developed by the Group. By optimizing the antigen and nanoadjuvant system, the product induces robust humoral and cellular immune responses, offering a more diverse range of preventive options for the target population. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that the product exhibits favorable safety and efficacy profiles.

The approved clinical indication is for the prevention of herpes zoster and its complications in adults aged 50 years and older. The approval of this product’s clinical trial represents a significant achievement for the Group in the field of recombinant protein vaccines, laying a solid foundation for the development of preventive vaccine products, including the recombinant zoster vaccine.
