Sbt Ultrasonic

Listed Leading Enterprise of Ultrasonic Equipment

Recently, Niantong Intelligence announced the completion of a Series A financing round of nearly RMB 100 million. This round was led by SBT Ultrasonic Technology, a company listed on the Science and Technology Innovation Board, with joint follow-on investment from Shanghai Minjin Investment Company and Lingang Digital Intelligence. The funds from this round will be primarily used for market expansion and commercial deployment of its core product eCon-Hand, research and development of the full-cycle rehabilitation product pipeline for stroke, as well as upgrading of core technologies and production capabilities.

As a high-tech enterprise incubated at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2016, Niantong Intelligence is among the first pioneers in China to deeply engage in the translation and clinical implementation of brain-computer interface technologies. The company has completed four rounds of equity financing, and its technological capabilities, clinical achievements, and industrial qualifications are all at a leading level in China.

The company focuses on electroencephalographic signal measurement, brain-computer interface technology research and development, and artificial intelligence-powered medical device development. It has established an integrated industry-academia-research-medicine platform in close collaboration with Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Huashan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University. The core team has long undertaken major national research missions, leading and participating in multiple national-level projects including the National Key Research and Development Program and major projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. The team possesses outstanding capabilities in basic research and commercialization of scientific achievements, and holds over 40 core patents.

China's First! Rehabilitation Brain-Computer Interface Has Completed Clinical Validation

The Fifteenth Five-Year Plan proposal has incorporated brain-computer interfaces into the key development tracks for future industries. Driven by both policy support and increased capital investment, the industry is rapidly transitioning from technological breakthroughs into a phase of explosive industrial deployment. Currently, rehabilitation treatment programs involving brain-computer interfaces have been included in China's national medical insurance catalog and have been implemented in more than ten provinces and municipalities, including Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang.

The eCon-Hand brain-computer interface upper-limb medical rehabilitation training device, independently developed by Niantong Intelligence, is the first non-invasive brain-computer interface rehabilitation device in China to have completed Good Clinical Practice clinical validation, filling a market gap for brain-computer interface technology in the field of stroke rehabilitation. The product adopts a wearable design, consisting of an electroencephalographic cap and an exoskeletal robotic hand, and is equipped with artificial intelligence machine learning algorithms capable of precisely decoding patients' motor intentions to enable task-oriented training, with core indicators reaching internationally advanced levels. At the same time, the product builds a closed-loop neurorehabilitation training model based on Hebbian theory, effectively promoting neural functional remodeling, and is suitable for upper-limb motor function rehabilitation training following stroke.

Validated through multi-center Good Clinical Practice clinical studies, the eCon-Hand has demonstrated a therapeutic efficacy rate of over 85%, improving treatment outcomes by more than 30% compared with traditional rehabilitation approaches. The device has been associated with zero device-related adverse events, highlighting its outstanding safety and efficacy profile. This technology has been designated as a "strong recommendation" treatment option in the latest expert consensus.

When Niantong Intelligence was founded in 2016, the domestic brain-computer interface industry was virtually non-existent, and the company faced a path that no one had previously traveled. After a decade of dedicated effort under the leadership of founder Shu Xiaokang, Niantong Intelligence has now taken a comprehensive leading position in the industry across product research and development, clinical validation, and standard-setting. In June 2026, the eCon-Hand completed its registration supplementary submission as the "first of its kind" in the same product category. Following its market launch, the product is expected to effectively enhance rehabilitation treatment outcomes and truly realize the clinical accessibility and widespread benefit of brain-computer interface technology.

Accelerating Medical-Engineering Integration: Developing a Series of Brain-Computer Interface Products

Stroke is known as the "number one killer" threatening life and health, characterized by high incidence, high disability rate, and high mortality. According to the China Stroke Prevention and Treatment Report (2025), stroke is the leading cause of death and acquired disability in China, with approximately 3.5 million new cases each year, and the disease is showing a trend of affecting younger populations.

In response to this severe situation, Niantong Intelligence has made the diagnosis and treatment of brain diseases its core strategic focus, committed to developing a series of brain-computer interface products to significantly reduce functional disability caused by stroke. Building on its motor rehabilitation products, the company will further expand product research and development for the diagnosis and treatment of post-stroke disorders of consciousness and cognitive impairments, establishing a comprehensive rehabilitation ecosystem covering the full cycle and multiple conditions of stroke.

In May 2026, SBT Ultrasonic Technology, the lead investor in this financing round, officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Niantong Intelligence. The two parties will leverage their respective technological advantages to focus on joint research and development in the fields of neuromodulation, brain-computer interfaces, and neurological rehabilitation, accelerating the clinical translation and industrial deployment of cutting-edge technologies, and jointly exploring new frontiers in the integration of medicine and engineering. At the same time, the continued investment from Minjin Investment and Lingang Digital Intelligence as patient industrial capital further demonstrates their strong confidence in the long-term value of Niantong Intelligence.
