On June 30, Innovent and Eli Lilly and Company jointly announced that the two parties have reached an agreement regarding Lilly’sCDK4&6 Inhibitor Abemaciclib TabletsThe rights and interests in mainland China have reached the following cooperation agreement:
Innovent will be responsible for the import, sales, promotion, and distribution of abemaciclib tablets in mainland China; Eli Lilly will continue to be responsible for the production, supply, and ongoing development of the product.
Abemaciclib tablets, developed by Eli Lilly and Company, are a CDK4/6 inhibitor that has been approved in China for multiple indications, including:
(1) Early-stage breast cancer:Combined endocrine therapy (tamoxifen or aromatase inhibitors) is indicated for the adjuvant treatment of adult patients with hormone receptor (HR)-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative, node-positive, early-stage breast cancer at high risk of recurrence.
(2) Locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer:
a) For hormone receptor (HR)-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer:
Used in combination with aromatase inhibitors as initial endocrine therapy for postmenopausal female patients;
In combination with fulvestrant for patients who have experienced disease progression following prior endocrine therapy.
b) In combination with elacestrant tosylate for adult patients with locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer who are estrogen receptor (ER)-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative, and harbor estrogen receptor 1 (ESR1) mutations, and who have previously received endocrine therapy.
