Biotest Biotech and Zhongke Imagery (Nanjing) Technology Co., Ltd. Signed a Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement in Hangzhou, with Both Parties to Engage in In-Depth Collaboration in the Joint Development of Brain-Computer Interfaces and In Vitro Diagnostic Reagents, Medical Device Registration and Market Access Support, and Clinical Application and Promotion of the Brain-Computer Interface Industry Chain

Biotest Biotech stated that this collaboration marks the company’s expansion of its industrial layout into the upstream supply chain of brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) and the field of embodied intelligent interaction. Previously, Biotest Biotech had led the latest round of financing for Zhongke Imagery through the Biotest BCI Fund, taken equity stakes in multiple BCI companies, and established a special industrial fund worth RMB 200 million.

Strategic Cooperation Focuses on Three Core Areas

The collaboration between the two parties focuses on deep synergy in industrial capital, integrated innovation in IVD and BCI, and breakthroughs in commercialization pain points. The core breakthrough lies in the joint development of postoperative immune response detection reagents and blood biomarker monitoring solutions, exploring non-invasive assessment for early screening of implant infections, biocompatibility, and performance degradation trends, thereby filling the long-standing gap in industry safety monitoring.

Biotest Biotech will leverage its expertise in medical device compliance and global sales network to provide Zhongke Imagery with regulatory submission support for NMPA, FDA, and CE certifications, thereby accelerating the international market entry of its products. The two parties will also jointly establish a “R&D–Clinical–Feedback” data closed-loop, prioritize procurement collaboration in downstream scenarios such as mental health, and deepen synergy in the fields of implant infection screening and attenuation warning.

Zhongke Imagery: Technology Layout and Experimental Results

Zhongke Imagery is a brain-computer interface (BCI) technology enterprise incubated by the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. It focuses on the deep integration of “brain-computer AI embodiment,” achieving full-chain automation from “brain intent decoding” to “AI autonomous planning” and “robotic arm embodied execution.” In routine animal experiments conducted in April 2025, Zhongke Imagery decoded motor intentions in macaques in just 0.2 seconds, with AI autonomously completing motion planning and grasp execution for the robotic arm and dexterous hand.

Furthermore, Zhongke Imagery has proposed the Brain-Computer Interface Grading System (BCIG) and is currently advancing human clinical trials for Level 3 BCIG brain-computer interfaces.

Biotest Biotech Industrial Ecosystem Construction

In May 2025, Biotest Biotech strategically acquired a minority stake in Hangzhou Qingshi Yongjun Medical Equipment Co., Ltd., holding a 5% equity interest post-investment. The company’s core founding team hails from the State Key Laboratory of Brain-Machine Intelligence at Zhejiang University and is the first research team in China to achieve therapeutic outcomes for refractory severe depression through precise targeting via implantable deep brain stimulation.

In January 2026, Biotest Biotech strategically acquired a minority stake in Hangzhou Haoshi Tianhui Technology Co., Ltd., holding a 16% equity share post-investment. The company utilizes non-invasive brain-computer interfaces (BCI) for diagnosis and adjunctive therapy. Its self-developed medical-grade non-invasive BCI and mental health assessment devices can complete precise quantitative assessments of emotional disorders, such as depression and anxiety, in as little as 90 seconds.

In March 2026, Biotest Biotech established a special industrial fund focused on brain-computer interfaces (BCI) and brain science, with a total size of RMB 200 million. The fund is primarily intended to invest in pre-IPO companies along the domestic and international BCI and brain science industry chains. As a limited partner, Biotest Biotech committed RMB 190 million, accounting for 95% of the fund. Biotest Biotech stated that it would leverage the expertise and resource advantages of professional investment institutions to accelerate its strategic layout in the BCI sector and promote the integration and sharing of advantageous resources.
