2023 Wuxi Xishan (Shanghai) Precision Medicine Industry Development Forum Successfully Held

On November 1, 2023, the 2023 Wuxi Xishan (Shanghai) Precision Medicine Industry Development Forum was successfully held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Qiantan, Shanghai. The event was hosted by the Communist Party of China Wuxi Xishan District Committee and the People’s Government of Xishan District, Wuxi City; organized by the Administrative Committee of Wuxi Xidong New City Business District and the Wuxi Precision Medicine Industrial Park; and co-organized by VCBeat. Industry leaders gathered to provide insights and recommendations for the development of Wuxi’s precision medicine industry and to explore a development path tailored to Xidong.

The forum commenced with opening remarks by Xu Yi, Managing Director of CICC Capital and Head of the CICC Qichen Fund, who addressed the future development pathways of biomedicine and trends in industrial transformation. This was followed by insightful keynote presentations by Xiao Shen, former Senior Clinical Reviewer at the FDA and Chief Medical Officer of 3SBio Inc., and Wang Gang, Head of Technological Innovation at Boehringer Ingelheim (China).

The forum pooled high-quality resources from all parties to vigorously promote the implementation and cooperation of more premium projects. The total investment value of the signed and implemented projects reached RMB 3.8 billion, with foreign direct investment exceeding USD 100 million.

Witnessed by the on-site guests at the forum, Beijing Danhuang Technology (VCBeat), Wuxi Biopharmaceutical Industry Association, Wuxi Precision Medicine Industrial Park, Wuxi Innovation Investment Group, Runyuan Biopharmaceutical Venture Capital Fund, and Mifang Health Fund jointly entered into a strategic cooperation agreement to build the ecosystem of Wuxi Precision Medicine Industrial Park.

Subsequently, the “Open Collaboration—Signing Ceremony for Major Foreign-Invested Projects” was successfully held, featuring the signing of three major foreign-invested projects: the Women’s Health Diagnosis and Treatment Headquarters Project, the Tai-Future Life China R&D Center Project, and the Vascular Interventional Robotics Headquarters Project.

Subsequently, the “Smart Innovation for the Future—Signing Ceremony for Key Sci-Tech Industrial Projects” was held. Six key sci-tech projects were signed, including an in vitro diagnostic reagent production base project, a high-value medical device operation project, a multiphoton fluorescence microscope headquarters project, the Fukangjia Digital Healthcare Platform project, the Junduoduo Gut Microbiota Therapy project, and the Kanghe Qingyuan Medical Dressings project.

The booming development of Wuxi’s precision medicine industry is driven not only by its unique geographical advantages but also by advanced and sound development concepts.
