Academician Guangzhong Yang to Speak at 2023 Future Medical Technology Conference on Opportunities and Challenges in Medical Robotics

Guang-Zhong Yang, Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering (FREng), is the Founder and Chief Scientist of the Medical Robotics Institute at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the journal Science Robotics. Professor Yang is the Founder of the Hamlyn Centre for Robotic Surgery at Imperial College London and served as a member of the Global Agenda Council on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics of the World Economic Forum. He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering (FREng), a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (FIEEE), a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET), a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (FAIMBE), a Fellow of the International Academy of Medical and Biological Engineering (FIAMBE), and a Fellow of the Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention Society (FMICCAI). He has also been awarded the Royal Society Research Excellence Award. In 2010, he was named one of the top 100 most influential figures in British science by Eureka, the science magazine published by The Times. In 2017, he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) by Queen Elizabeth II, becoming the first scientist from mainland China to receive this honor.
