Academician Deng Zixin to Speak at 2023 Future Medical Technology Conference on Synthetic Biology-Driven Innovation

The latest 2023 Nature Index rankings, released recently, show that China has surpassed the United States for the first time, underscoring the rapid advancement of China’s scientific research capabilities and foundational research strength. His accolades include the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award (2008), the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from Shanghai Municipality (2004) and the Ministry of Agriculture (1994), the “King Baudouin Prize” from Sweden (1997), and the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Engineering (2020). His work was consecutively selected as one of the Top Ten Scientific and Technological Advances in Chinese Universities in 2005 and 2006, and as one of Global Science’s Top Ten Scientific News Stories of 2007. Since 1990, he has successively been honored as a National Expert with Outstanding Contributions (1991), recipient of the Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation Young Teacher Award (1991), nominee for the inaugural “Chinese Young Scientist Award” (1993), recipient of the inaugural National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (1994), winner of the “Chinese Youth Science and Technology Award” (1994), Shanghai Scientific and Technological Leader (2006), Shanghai Model Worker (2007), and recipient of the Tan Jiazhen Life Science Achievement Award (2017).
