The latest 2023 Nature Index rankings, released recently, show that China has surpassed the United States for the first time, underscoring the rapid advancement of China’s scientific research capabilities and foundational research strength. Professor Chi Bo, Founding Partner of Hannin (Changzhou) Medical Technology Co., Ltd., previously conducted visiting research at the European Institute for Chemistry and Biology. He is currently a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the State Key Laboratory of Materials-Oriented Chemical Engineering, Nanjing Tech University, and serves as a Council Member of the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgical Equipment Committee of the China Association for Medical Devices Industry. His primary research focuses on the development and clinical translation of novel biomaterials that promote the repair and regeneration of damaged tissues/organs, with specific interests in biomedical hydrogels, 3D bioprinting, and stem cell-based tissue engineering.

Over the past five years, Professor Chi has published more than 70 papers in the field of biomaterials in journals such as Nature Chemistry and Advanced Functional Materials, filed over 40 Chinese national patent applications, and been granted one PCT invention patent. He has received the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and the First Prize of Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Award. Currently, he is leading projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Jiangsu Provincial Key Research and Development Program, with multiple research achievements having undergone medical translation.
