5th Forum on Clinical Biobank Innovation and Development – Conference Announcement and Product Information

With the rise and rapid development of translational medicine and precision medicine, as well as continuous advancements in the era of medical big data, the demand for the development and application of clinical biospecimen resources from industry, academia, research, and clinical practice has surged. Clinical biospecimen resources have become an indispensable strategic asset. Meanwhile, legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements for human genetic resources are becoming increasingly stringent. Many institutions face the common challenge of “high storage but low utilization” of their human genetic resources, posing new problems and challenges to the sustainable development of biobanks. To promote the sharing and utilization of biospecimen resources and foster innovative, coordinated development among medical institutions, enterprises, and research organizations, the Beijing Clinical Biobank Innovation Development Alliance, in collaboration with Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University, the Beijing Life Science Park Institute of Biotechnology, and the Drug Information Association (DIA), plans to hold the 5th Clinical Biobank Innovation Development Forum in Beijing on December 22–23, 2023. The forum aims to provide a face-to-face communication platform for biospecimen resource holders and researchers, facilitating greater collaboration in the sharing and utilization of biospecimen resources.

More than ten institutions, including Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University, Beijing Anzhen Hospital of Capital Medical University, Beijing Chest Hospital, Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Beijing Children’s Hospital, Beijing Anding Hospital, Beijing Stomatological Hospital, Peking University Cancer Hospital, Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, Peking University People’s Hospital, and the Plastic Surgery Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, have been invited to showcase their biobank sample resources and engage in technical exchanges with on-site attendees. In addition, renowned experts in the fields of biobanking and translational medicine will be invited to conduct extensive discussions on topics such as policies and regulations governing human genetic resources, key elements in the translation of novel sample types, new technologies for sample preservation, and the translation and utilization of biological samples. It is believed that the profound expertise and insightful presentations delivered by these invited experts will provide valuable guidance and reference for the participating institutions.
