Recently, the “Second Conference on Medical and Health Information Interconnectivity and Smart Hospital Development,” co-organized by the Editorial Office of the Chinese Journal of Health Informatics and Management and the Institute of Medical Informatics at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, was held in Chengdu. Themed “Interconnectivity: Leading New Developments in Smart Hospitals,” the conference focused on the Smart Hospital Demonstration Initiative under the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Health Informatization. It centered on in-depth exchanges and discussions regarding the iterative upgrading of hospital information interconnectivity and the development of smart hospitals, thereby promoting the high-quality development of public hospitals.


At the opening ceremony of the conference, the “2023 Annual List of Influential Healthcare IT Enterprises” was officially released. Ultimately, ten competitive healthcare big data platform enterprises were selected. Healthcare Big Data Platform: Empowering the High-Quality Development of Smart Hospitals


Driven by internal and external factors such as policy evaluations, smart hospital development, and digital transformation, public hospitals have an increasingly urgent need to “achieve data interoperability and unlock the value of data.” What kind of big data platform should hospitals build to meet their data needs in operational management, clinical care, teaching, and scientific research, while addressing the growing complexities and challenges in the healthcare environment?


For many years, ClinBrain has focused on medical big data platforms, information integration platforms, and digital-intelligence application services. Its approach to building big data platforms primarily involves the following aspects:


First, start with top-level design and emphasize overall pathway planning. The ClinBrain Medical Big Data Platform offers the following technical advantages: First, it possesses the capability to integrate heterogeneous data from over 500 types of business systems, including HIS, EMR, and LIS. Second, based on a microservices architecture, its data services support full lifecycle management, providing real-time medical business collaboration and real-time data collaboration services. Third, it supports distributed data lakes, with data acquisition and processing enabling unified stream and batch processing (using technologies such as Flink and Spark). Fourth, it meets the requirements for Information Technology Application Innovation (ITAI), supporting various domestically produced servers, operating systems, and databases.


Third, through project implementation, we summarize and update the outcomes and experiences gained.
