VCBeat has learned that OneMedica, a medical service platform facilitating treatment in Japan (headquartered in Minato Ward, Tokyo; Chairman and CEO: Chitoku Torisu), recently completed its Series A financing round. Led by ANRI, the round raised approximately RMB 20 million. The funds will be used to strengthen recruitment efforts and attract top talent.

Through this initiative, Xikang Wanjia will further expand its presence in the Chinese market, leveraging high-quality Japanese medical services to support the health of numerous Chinese patients. Additionally, Xikang Wanjia plans to actively implement various measures to enhance the quality of cross-border medical services and improve user satisfaction.

Currently, China is facing certain healthcare challenges, including strained medical resources and inadequate supporting services. On the other hand, driven by the pandemic, public awareness of health and disease management has increased, leading to a rising demand for high-quality medical care.

The rapid growth of medical demand among Chinese patients has brought new opportunities to the cross-border healthcare market. Japan’s medical services rank among the best in the world, with abundant medical resources, enabling it to make increasingly significant contributions to the health, well-being, and economic development of people worldwide, including those in China.

Against this backdrop, after nearly three years of preparation, the Jikang Wanjia cross-border medical service brand has been successfully launched, providing Chinese patients with professional guidance for seeking medical treatment in Japan and facilitating rapid access to Japanese medical resources. Jikang Wanjia currently maintains its main offices in Tokyo, Japan (OneMedica Inc.) and Shanghai, China (Shanghai Wanmindi Medical Consulting Service Co., Ltd.).

Guided by the mission to “make healthcare borderless and provide more and better choices for the health of millions of families,” and upholding the principles of transparent pricing, consistent quality, and precise matching for hospital referrals, we are committed to providing Chinese patients with one-stop services including medical treatment in Japan, online consultations, chronic disease management, and health check-ups. In addition, Xikang Wanjia empowers Japanese medical institutions to establish reception systems for foreign patients visiting Japan, offering Japanese hospitals comprehensive support spanning facilities, personnel, and cultural aspects, thereby better serving Chinese patients seeking medical care in Japan.

Furthermore, VCBeat has noted that OneMedica was jointly established by MedicalNote Inc. and Onedot Inc. The former owns “MedicalNote,” a major digital health platform in Japan, while the latter provides support for market entry into China for well-known overseas enterprises. CEO Chitoku Sudori previously worked at Boston Consulting Group and BCG Digital Ventures, and has served as CEO of Onedot since 2017. Director Hiromasa Umeda has been engaged in the investment industry since his university years and founded MedicalNote in 2014.

The profound backgrounds of OneMedica’s shareholders and core founding team members have not only attracted collaborations with numerous medical institutions, such as the Cancer Institute Hospital of JFCR, International University of Health and Welfare Mita Hospital, National Center for Global Health and Medicine, Tokyo Medical University Hospital, The University of Tokyo Hospital, Toranomon Hospital, Nippon Medical School Hospital, Hyogo Ion Beam Medical Center, and Sanno Hospital, but also garnered the favor of the Japanese investment firm ANRI.

ANRI stated, “Bringing Japan’s high-quality medical services to overseas patients not only creates more choices and opportunities for them to receive treatment, but also has a positive impact on the stable operation of Japan’s healthcare system through such international exchanges.”

Nest Chide, CEO of Xikang Wanjia, stated, “Xikang Wanjia has established close collaborations with over 1,100 medical institutions and 2,700 authoritative physicians across Japan, possessing extensive high-quality Japanese medical resources. We are able to provide overseas patients with efficient, rapid, and direct matching to Japanese medical services. Furthermore, we have assembled a team of professional and reliable medical consultants and service planners to effectively mitigate and address language and cultural barriers inherent in cross-border healthcare. Following this round of financing, we will continue to expand our team and optimize our services, striving to become a company that makes outstanding contributions to the Chinese and Japanese medical industries and to patients.”

Additionally, according to director Hiromasa Umeda, one of the core objectives of this funding round is to further expand the team and business operations. Currently, departments such as the Japan Medical Coordination Department and the China Market Channel Development Department are recruiting; interested candidates are welcome to apply.
