Recently, Baidu Health and Chongqing No. 5 People’s Hospital signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Leveraging the hospital’s disciplinary strengths, geographic advantages, and influence (hereinafter referred to as “Chongqing No. 5 Hospital”), and integrating Baidu Health’s expertise in online consultation, digitalization, and AI, both parties will jointly create an integrated online-offline healthcare model. This initiative aims to enhance Chongqing No. 5 Hospital’s internet presence and expand the reach of its medical services, thereby better ensuring convenient access and improved patient experience for residents in the Sichuan-Chongqing region.

According to reports, through this collaboration, Baidu Health will help hospitals better build their online brands. Leveraging AI models, it will match patients with the hospital’s leading specialties and physicians based on search queries, enabling a “one-click” healthcare journey that spans online consultations, precise matching, online appointment scheduling, and offline diagnosis and treatment. Additionally, Baidu Health will provide digital tools and intelligent solutions to assist doctors in better patient management and follow-up care, while also offering intelligent outpatient efficiency-enhancement solutions to improve the convenience of medical services for patients.

In the future, both parties will jointly plan online and offline free clinic activities to benefit more patients. Currently, Chongqing No. 5 People's Hospital has completed its onboarding by adopting Baidu Health’s “Hospital Connect” product as the entry point for collaboration. Patients can access key information about the hospital’s disciplinary development and medical teams through the Baidu App.
Chongqing No. 5 People’s Hospital, founded in 1896 as the Chongqing Private Renji Hospital, is a century-old national Grade III Class A general hospital. It currently hosts five nationally accredited centers, three Chongqing municipal key regional disciplines, eight Chongqing municipal clinical key specialties, and four Chongqing municipal characteristic specialties. According to hospital leadership, the hospital will complete its relocation and reconstruction in 2024. The new campus, located in Zone A of the Danzishi CBD in Nan’an District, covers an area of approximately 54,500 square meters, with an investment exceeding RMB 2 billion. One of the core design concepts for the new campus is “intelligence,” featuring smart facilities such as AVG intelligent parking systems, hospital-wide logistics robots, and digital operating rooms. Upon completion, the new campus will become a representative hospital in Chongqing with the most advanced construction philosophy and hardware infrastructure, enabling it to provide higher-quality medical services to patients.

As numerous public hospitals embark on reforms focused on technological, operational, and managerial innovation to enhance the efficiency and quality of medical services, Baidu Health is actively exploring ways to leverage internet technologies to meet their development needs. Currently, Baidu Health has established a healthcare service network covering 19 provinces and more than 70 Grade A tertiary public hospitals, with direct connections to over 20 national or provincial regional medical centers and more than 80 national key specialty departments. This collaboration with Chongqing No. 5 People's Hospital marks a milestone in Baidu Health’s expansion across Southwest China.
