Major Milestone in China's Blood Purification Industry: National Specialty Committee Officially Established

He stated that although Chinese domestic hemodialysis brands started late and encountered numerous challenges and difficulties during their development, Chinese hemodialysis enterprises, represented by SWS MEDICAL, have gradually risen through independent innovation and diligent efforts, becoming a significant force in the blood purification industry both domestically and globally.

The establishment of the Blood Purification Professional Committee of the China Medical Device Industry Association will elevate the collaborative innovation among industry, academia, research, and clinical practice in China’s blood purification sector to new heights, rapidly narrowing the gap between domestically produced and imported hemodialysis brands.

SWS MEDICAL will actively participate in the work of the Blood Purification Special Committee, share experiences with the industry, and make greater contributions to the advancement of blood purification medical technology and the leapfrog development of the blood purification industry in China.

At the meeting, she introduced the background and main functions of the China Association for Medical Devices Industry (CAMDI), stating that CAMDI has always attached great importance to the overall development and reform of the blood purification industry. Regarding the work of the Blood Purification Professional Committee, Xu Shan emphasized: “It is hoped that the Blood Purification Professional Committee will leverage its platform advantages as the only national-level industry organization in China’s medical device sector dedicated to R&D, technical standards, and regulations in the blood purification industry, so as to enhance innovation capabilities in the blood purification field and promote high-quality development of blood purification technologies.”

We are also honored to have invited Pi Tao, Member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, to deliver guiding remarks at this conference.

He pointed out that Chongqing Municipality has long attached great importance to the development of the life and health industry. As the core and cluster area for this industry in Chongqing, Liangjiang New Area is home to a number of outstanding biomedical enterprises, such as SWS MEDICAL, which have broken the “import-only, no-export” pattern and gained influence across China and even globally.

The establishment of the Blood Purification Professional Committee under the China Association for Medical Devices Industry (CAMDI) demonstrates high regard and recognition for pharmaceutical enterprises in Liangjiang New Area, represented by SWS MEDICAL. This milestone marks a new starting point and journey for the pharmaceutical industry in the New Area. It is believed that the Blood Purification Professional Committee will become an excellent academic platform within the industry for exchanging ideas, showcasing achievements, fostering cooperation, and promoting mutual development.

It is hoped that through academic activities of varying scales and diverse formats, we can promote exchange and connectivity, expand the influence of the Blood Purification Special Committee, and attract more outstanding talents to join, thereby creating a virtuous cycle.

We strive to build the Blood Purification Special Committee into an academic organization that is trusted by the government, indispensable to the industry, truly needed by its members, and influential internationally, making unremitting efforts to promote the high-quality development of China’s blood purification industry and the rapid advancement of China’s medical device industry.

Following the inaugural meeting, the Blood Purification Committee convened the 2023 First Annual Academic Conference of the Blood Purification Professional Committee of the China Medical Devices Industry Association. The conference invited numerous renowned experts in the field to deliver lectures, including Director Yang Xiangdong from Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, Director Zhong Aimin from Jiangxi Provincial People's Hospital, Director Zhou Zhu from the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University in Yunnan, Director Hu Wenbo from Qinghai Provincial People's Hospital, and Director Cui Wenpeng from the Second Hospital of Jilin University.

Chairman Wang Niansong Delivers Closing Remarks

After the meeting, the attending committee members visited SWS MEDICAL’s blood purification industrial park. They toured the production workshop, R&D center, big data center, and product exhibition hall in sequence, gaining a detailed understanding of SWS MEDICAL’s technological R&D, product manufacturing, sales performance, and corporate culture development.

Following the tour, Wang Niansong, Chairman of the Blood Purification Special Committee, and his delegation held in-depth discussions with senior executives and core technical personnel at SWS MEDICAL. Throughout the visit and discussions, many committee members expressed high appreciation for the outstanding achievements SWS MEDICAL has made in the blood purification industry.
