On December 28, the 6th Huan Huaxi International Smart Medical Valley Industrial Development Conference, co-hosted by Sichuan University, the Wuhou District Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the People’s Government of Wuhou District, Chengdu, was successfully held in Wuhou District. Focusing on digital health innovation and centered on the theme “Aggregating Digital Momentum, Creating an Innovation Core,” the conference featured five major segments: Wuhou Opportunities, Wuhou Strength, Wuhou Innovation, Wuhou Momentum, and Wuhou Landscape. Through a combination of an offline conference, innovative project roadshows, and online live streaming, the event promoted integrated innovation among government, universities, hospitals, and enterprises, jointly advancing the high-quality development of the digital health industry. Chen Peng, a senior researcher at VCBeat Institute, stated in his interpretation of the “2023 White Paper on the Digital Therapeutics Industry” that digital therapeutics are currently in a phase of rapid development, with expanding application areas and broad market prospects. Chengdu is poised to become a fertile ground for the future of digital therapeutics; there is an urgent need to standardize clinical trial protocols for digital therapeutics, while continuing to delve into underlying mechanisms and identify sustainable business models.

Xiao Xue, Vice President of West China Second University Hospital, Sichuan University, shared her insights on “Prospects for the Application of Large Models in Smart Hospitals.” Using hospital scenarios as examples, she provided a clear and accessible overview of the implementation and practical applications of artificial intelligence (AI) large models in clinical diagnosis and treatment, as well as hospital management. She stated that AI large models can enable intelligent reengineering of the entire healthcare workflow, encompassing diagnosis, judgment, decision-making, and patient management. Looking to the future of medical large models, Vice President Xiao expressed that these models will offer smarter and more human-centric application scenarios and experiences in the medical field, continuously driving innovation in healthcare services and management models.

Chai Ying, Vice President of Shenzhen Kaihong Digital Industry Development Co., Ltd., shared insights from a technical perspective in her presentation titled “Building a Digital Health System on the Kaihong Digital Foundation.” She introduced ShenKaihong’s innovations and collaborations in smart hospitals, particularly in hospital equipment management and scheduling, intelligent information entry, real-time data acquisition, and enhancement of inpatient services. Furthermore, in the health and elderly care sector, ShenKaihong has developed smart healthcare solutions tailored for home-based, community-based, and institutional elderly care scenarios to address practical challenges. These solutions strengthen security oversight of healthcare data, reduce elderly care costs, and achieve a closed-loop service model for happy and healthy aging.
