Briteseed

No matter how skilled a surgeon may be, surgery itself is an inherently high-risk procedure, particularly due to the risk of intraoperative accidental hemorrhage. Statistics indicate that over 32% of such unintended bleeding events during surgery result in patient mortality. Briteseed has developed SafeSnips, a real-time vascular monitoring technology that enables continuous intraoperative assessment of vascular status. The system alerts surgeons to high-risk areas during procedures, effectively preventing adverse events such as accidental hemorrhage. Last November, Briteseed won first prize in the “Medical Technology Innovation Competition” at the EMT Summit. In May of this year, SafeSnips, developed by Briteseed, was awarded first prize at Photonics West, the largest photonics exhibition in North America.
