1. Tyto Care Raises $11 Million for Handheld Guided Diagnostic Device

Israeli digital medical device manufacturer TytoCare raises $11 million, led by Cambia Health Solutions, with participation from existing investors OrbiMed Israel Partners, LionBird, Walgreens, and Fosun Pharma. The company’s total funding now amounts to at least $15 million. TytoCare stated that the new capital will help it secure FDA clearance and accelerate its expansion in the United States.

Tyto Care is developing a handheld device that enables patients to examine their mouth, throat, eyes, heart, lungs, and skin. The device can also measure the patient’s body temperature and heart rate. Tyto Care aims to facilitate physician diagnosis based on the data collected by the device and plans to collaborate with another telemedicine company serving physicians.

Dedi Gilad, Founder and CEO of TytoCare, revealed that the device can be sold directly to patients for approximately $200 or bundled with physician services.

2. Xinbang Pharmaceutical’s “Guiyi Cloud” APP Officially Launched

On July 28, Guizhou’s first “Health Cloud” online medical platform, “Guiyi Yun,” officially launched, enabling residents to consult with doctors for free via video on their mobile phones or terminals.

According to VCBeat, “Guiyi Cloud” was jointly developed by the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University, Xinbang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and Guizhou Xinbang Fudun Technology Co., Ltd. Currently, “Guiyi Cloud” has mobilized medical resources across the province, including those from the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University, enabling basic online video consultation services. In addition, “Guiyi Cloud” has integrated offline service providers such as pharmacies and clinics, promising to deliver required medications to users within 30 minutes. According to Zhou Congjun, General Manager of “Guiyi Cloud,” deeper-level services such as “online appointment registration,” “chronic disease management,” and “personal physician” will be launched in the next phase.

“Guiyi Cloud” has been launched and is now operational, with 100 doctors on duty daily and more than 10 available for real-time video consultations. In addition, “Guiyi Cloud” has specially developed a “Terminal Application Platform”—touchscreen tablet digital terminals. These devices will be installed in major pharmacies, community healthcare institutions, county-, township-, and village-level medical facilities, as well as public service organizations. Currently, over 200 units have been deployed across various medical institutions and pharmacies in Guiyang city. “Guiyi Cloud” has also innovated its payment model, enabling rapid “online consultation” and “online payment,” which will transform the traditional supply, distribution, and settlement models of medical resources.

3. Feihua Health Network Launches the “Doctor-Patient Helper” App
On July 29, Feihua Health Network launched the mobile application “Doctor-Patient Helper.” Ruan Shengtie, CEO of Doctor-Patient Helper, stated that the platform boasts three key advantages: big data, medical services, and Internet-plus hospitals. The company aims to enhance performance in three areas: proactive pre-consultation awareness, effective during-consultation care, and comprehensive post-consultation follow-up.

“YiHuanBang” brings together tens of thousands of authoritative experts from top-tier (Grade 3A) hospitals. Patients can register and make appointments online, and engage in one-on-one consultations with doctors via text/image or phone. WeChat provides real-time notifications for doctor reminders, updates to consultation schedules, cancellation notices, and published articles.

In addition, "Yi Huan Bang" provides doctors with exclusive features such as personalized profiles, patient management, text-and-image consultations, outpatient appointment scheduling, article sharing, and bulk messaging, aiming to enhance physician efficiency and improve doctor-patient relationships.

4. Survey shows: 58% of UK patients and 72% of doctors in the UK, France, and Germany are using digital health technologies
According to a new report from Push Doctor, a UK-based telemedicine company, 58% of people in the United Kingdom are using some form of digital health technology. A report by Ipsos Health, a healthcare marketing group, also revealed that among 131 primary care physicians surveyed in the UK, France, and Germany, 72% stated they were already using or recommending at least one type of digital health technology to their patients.

According to a report by Push Doctor, 22.8% of patients use smartphones, tablets, or desktop computers to monitor their activity levels, 17% use devices to determine their body mass index (BMI), 16.9% monitor their heart rate, 15.2% track their daily diet and caloric intake, 12.9% monitor sleep quality, and 5.1% share their data on social media to seek advice from friends.

The proportions of users utilizing various technologies to communicate with physicians are as follows: 6.3% share biometric data with online physicians, 5.1% conduct video consultations, 4.4% communicate via email, and 4% opt for voice chats.

Overall, although patients view digital tools as educational resources rather than for daily use, they still maintain a positive attitude toward them. According to the survey, 22.5% of users reported that digital tools made them feel more in control of their health, while 84.4% believed that these tools enhanced their health awareness. Meanwhile, 16.3% of users indicated that fear prompted them to become more aware of their health, and 12.8% stated that digital tools provided such detailed insight into their health status that it actually increased their anxiety.

5. Yi Bo Secures Millions in Angel Round Investment from Zhongjin Huicai
On July 28, 2015, Yibolai, a vertical recruitment website for the pharmaceutical sector, disclosed to VCBeat that it had completed an angel financing round worth several million yuan, with investment from Zhongjin Huicai.
