The Renowned Physicians Diagnosis and Treatment Center will be invested in and constructed by social capital, featuring four cooperation models with experts: first, the center hires experts for clinical consultations; second, it establishes renowned physician studios where experts can move in with minimal setup (“turnkey” entry); third, a leading renowned physician spearheads the formation of a specialized or interdisciplinary consortium of renowned physicians; and fourth, experts may apply to establish independent clinics operated under their own management.

The Renowned Physicians Clinical Center currently has two categories of fee schedules: the consultation fee for directly employed specialists is RMB 980 per visit, while specialists engaged through other models are categorized into two tiers, with fees of RMB 1,700 and RMB 2,300 per visit, respectively. Physicians’ income is not linked to pharmaceutical sales.

On July 1 this year, Shenzhen fully lifted restrictions on physicians’ practice locations, implementing a “unified registration, citywide validity” system and granting doctors greater professional autonomy. It is reported that the center has currently signed admission agreements with 28 renowned medical experts from both domestic and international backgrounds.

2. Ciming Cancer Early Screening Project Successfully Crowdfunded on JD.com

Recently, the “Early Cancer Detection” tumor screening project, jointly launched by Ciming Health Checkup and the National Engineering Laboratory for Anti-Tumor Protein Therapeutics at Tsinghua University, successfully completed its crowdfunding campaign on JD.com. This marks a successful initial step in Ciming Group’s transformation from the traditional preventive medicine model.

The “Early Cancer Detection” product was officially launched on July 10 in the “Smart Hardware” section of JD.com’s crowdfunding platform. By leveraging the novel tumor marker heat shock protein 90α (Hsp90α), discovered by Professor Luo Yongzhang of Tsinghua University, it enables the detection of 15 types of cancer from a single drop of blood.

Nowadays, with the growing awareness that “prevention is better than cure,” the “Early Cancer Detection” initiative has not only successfully met consumer demand but also enhanced the efficiency of translating scientific and technological achievements through internet platforms.

Han Xiaohong, President of Ciming Jiankang, stated that in the future, Ciming will integrate innovative products in preventive medicine and adopt a business model featuring decentralized O2O online marketing, online platform appointment and purchase, offline examinations at central facilities, and secondary in-depth services including report interpretation. By leveraging models such as online crowdfunding, community marketing, and micro-marketing, consumers will be enabled to participate more directly.

During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, the overall objective for the informatization of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) was to establish a National TCM Smart Cloud Service Platform, enabling access to the cloud platform by provincial and municipal (prefectural) TCM administrative authorities, 20% of tertiary TCM hospitals among public TCM medical institutions, 30% of primary-level TCM medical institutions, and 50% of TCM research institutes and TCM higher education institutions.

Wang Guoqiang, Director of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, stated that vigorous development of “Internet + Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)” is essential. This includes establishing a TCM big data system, building a two-tier information platform, and promoting data exchange and collaborative sharing within TCM electronic health record and electronic medical record databases. Meanwhile, big data and cloud computing technologies should be fully leveraged to research and develop knowledge bases and knowledge graphs on TCM disease diagnosis, treatment, wellness, and healthcare for the general public.
