On July 31, at the “Internet Healthcare Ecosystem Review – Medical Imaging Special Session” held in 2015 and hosted by VCBeat, Huang Yedong, co-founder of Xi’an Yinggu Network Technology Co., Ltd., shared his entrepreneurial journey with attendees and recounted how Yinggu Technology has achieved step-by-step progress in medical imaging over the past 14 years.

Key Point 1: The Alignment Between the Founder’s Vision for Medical Imaging and Corporate Development
“The reason Yinggu focuses on medical imaging is inseparable from the founder’s interests and experiences,” Huang Yedong stated at the beginning of his speech. He began practicing photography and building cameras in the third grade, sweeping the first, second, and third prizes in photography competitions during his university years. Coupled with a strong interest in biomedical engineering, he pursued four additional years of specialized study in CT technology after graduation. His work experience at GE (General Electric) particularly broadened his horizons, leaving him profoundly astonished by the distinct imaging capabilities demonstrated by AW 2.0. Unlike conventional CT images that are displayed slice by slice, AW 2.0 involves a reconstruction of the images. All these experiences deeply influenced his subsequent founding of Yinggu Technology, a company dedicated to medical imaging.

After leaving GE, Huang Yedong encountered a group of experts in radar signal processing in Xi’an. In fact, radar signal processing shares significant similarities with medical image processing. Huang persuaded them to collaborate, and on July 15, 2001, they founded Xi’an Yinggu Technology Co., Ltd., focusing on the visualization and intelligent processing and analysis of medical images.

Key Point 2: Consistency Between Product Iteration and the Direction of Technological Waves
Over the following 14 years, Yinggu experimented with various technologies. Whether leveraging supercomputing, grid computing, or cloud computing, the company was committed to shifting medical imaging applications to intelligent terminals, thereby revolutionizing the transmission of imaging data to the cloud. This approach enabled big data imaging applications to operate independently of data transmission, bandwidth constraints, and hardware limitations. As a result, medical imaging became easily accessible on smart devices such as smartphones and tablets, making it a tool that every physician would appreciate.

In particular, in 2012, Yinggu Technology pioneered the creation of the Images Engine, a cloud-based medical image processing technology and product built on its proprietary cloud computing architecture. This core engine technology leverages high-performance computing clusters augmented by GPUs with substantial computational power, revolutionarily addressing a series of critical technical challenges, including real-time transmission, computation, visualization, reconstruction, and intelligent decision-making for large-scale imaging data.

This is a disruptive technology in the field of medical imaging, truly achieving full-network, multi-terminal, fully online, all-data, comprehensive processing, and holistic analysis...
