According to The Wall Street Journal, startup health insurer Oscar has secured $32.5 million in funding from Google Capital.

In April this year, Oscar just completed a $145 million funding round, with a valuation of $1.5 billion at the time. According to foreign media reports, the company’s total financing has now exceeded $300 million, and its current valuation has reached $1.75 billion.

Oscar, founded a year ago, offers users free consultations with physicians and is the first insurer to provide fitness trackers, enabling users to earn rewards by achieving daily step goals.



2、iHealth LabiHealth Core Chronic Disease Scale Released

iHealth Lab, a subsidiary of the Chinese company Andon Health, has recently launched a new smart scale, the iHealth Core (Wireless Body Composition Scale HS6), along with an upgraded version of its companion app, iHealth MyVitals.

The new smart scale is specifically designed to help individuals with chronic conditions such as obesity and hypertension manage their health.

The new smart scale can track users' weight, body mass index (BMI), body fat mass, lean muscle mass, bone mass, water weight, calories, and visceral fat level. The scale supports up to 10 users simultaneously and can store over 200 data points offline.

Data can be wirelessly transmitted to the MyVitals app on Android or iOS. MyVitals provides users with a dashboard page that displays data trends and offers explanations of nine body composition metrics, along with their clinical significance.

3, Crystal Pharmaceutical R&D Company Jingyun Secures 10 Million$10,000 in financingRenren.com Led the Investment

Recently, Suzhou Crystal PharmaTech announced the completion of a $10 million Series A financing round, led by Renren Inc.

Founded in July 2010, Jingyun is China’s first company dedicated to the development and industrialization of drug polymorphs. Leveraging an internationally leading polymorph research and development platform, it provides global pharmaceutical companies with optimal, polymorph-centric drug R&D solutions, jointly promoting efficient drug development.

“Among the various factors determining drug efficacy, in addition to dosage, composition, and manufacturing processes, another critical factor is the crystal structure of the drug. Our mission is to help pharmaceutical companies develop the optimal drug polymorph,” said co-founder Chen Minhua.



4, Tongxin Medical Alliance receives 1000$10,000 in financingCommitted to Improving Outpatient Processes

Recently, Tongxin Medical Alliance secured $10 million in joint investment from Legend Capital and Matrix Partners China. Led by Legend Capital, the round also saw participation from Lenovo Star, an angel investment firm. This marks the first collaborative investment deal between these two firms in the internet sector.

Tongxin Medical Alliance, established in May 2014, has identified that large hospitals currently monopolize medical resources and rely on drug markups to subsidize operations, resulting in cumbersome processes that make healthcare both difficult to access and expensive. Meanwhile, other hospitals suffer from insufficient patient volumes, leading to underutilization of medical resources. The underlying cause of this issue is the lack of an effective tiered diagnosis and treatment system.

And this field is well-positioned to fully leverage the Internet’s advantages in resource allocation and effective user connectivity.

Therefore, Tongxin Medical Alliance has launched "Yi Jiancha," a patient medical examination appointment product, which is now accessible via its WeChat official account. Users can opt for "Free Consultation" or "Schedule an Examination." If a patient chooses to schedule an examination, Tongxin Medical Alliance will first conduct preliminary triage, then recommend suitable hospitals and physicians to arrange the specific examination items and body parts. A Tongxin representative will accompany the patient during the examination.
