2015November 1,AstraZeneca and WeDoctor Group Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement in Shanghai. The Two Parties Will Launch a Series of Integrated Online-and-Offline Health Management Projects.
This strategic collaboration will initially focus on the fields of digestive and respiratory diseases. This year, both parties will first select certain regions to pilot innovative business models and, based on the pilot outcomes, roll out these models nationwide. Together, they are committed to enhancing patients’ disease awareness, facilitating access to standardized diagnosis and treatment, and providing a communication platform for medical professionals to foster academic exchange on disease diagnosis and management.
It is understood that future collaboration between WeDoctor Group and AstraZeneca will also cover areas such as cardiovascular diseases and oncology, with comprehensive initiatives in related disease management, expansion of internet-based health services, and online pharmaceutical services. Meanwhile, both parties will jointly promote their brands in health service-related marketing activities and give priority to each other as partners for new health management projects and pharmaceutical support projects.
At the signing ceremony, Wang Lei, President of AstraZeneca China and Hong Kong, stated that with the accelerating development of China’s tiered diagnosis and treatment system and the rapid growth of internet-based healthcare, AstraZeneca urgently needs to collaborate with internet platforms such as Weiyi Group to enhance its sales network. By leveraging Weiyi Group’s extensive user base, the company aims to implement its “market expansion and grassroots penetration” strategy, thereby reaching more primary-care hospitals and patients. “This collaboration will undoubtedly become a new focal point for the company’s development.”
