Recently, VCBeat received news that Weiyi.com has officially announced the completion of its Series A financing round, amounting to tens of millions of US dollars. The round was led by Trustbridge Partners, with China Renaissance serving as the exclusive financial advisor for this financing.

AllinMD is positioned as China’s first continuing education and professional networking platform dedicated to orthopedic specialists. Less than a year after the AllinMD website launched in 2014, the AllinMD mobile app was officially released. To date, AllinMD has accumulated over 80,000 real-name registered members, covering approximately two-thirds of orthopedic surgeons in China.

Weiyi primarily offers orthopedic professionals several key features, including case sharing, video-based learning, offline conferences, and forum discussions.

Currently, the total number of high-quality resources on the Weiyi platform has exceeded 30,000, with surgical and course videos, as core resources, growing to over 7,000 in 2015. Furthermore, with the establishment and refinement of the Weiyi APP platform, more users can access content directly via mobile devices, significantly increasing the proportion of user-generated content (UGC). Currently, UGC accounts for approximately 50% of the new resources added to the Weiyi website.

This marks Weiyi.com’s first round of financing since its establishment. Ms. Liu Zhengrong, Founder and CEO of Weiyi.com, stated that following the fundraising, Weiyi.com will gradually transition from a comprehensive, resource-based platform to building a new ecosystem for orthopedic internet healthcare.

Liu Zhengrong stated, “With orthopedic professionals as our core user base, the success of this funding round signifies market recognition of our focus on specialized medical sectors and our future growth potential.” Liu further noted that 2016 would be a year driven by big data for Weiyi. Leveraging the rich resources accumulated from various existing medical data, Weiyi will transition from a passive model of understanding and meeting physicians’ needs to an proactive model that actively uncovers users’ latent demands. This shift is expected to integrate all segments of the healthcare value chain and reshape a new paradigm of internet-based healthcare.

Xie Yijing, Managing Director at China Renaissance, stated, “By providing a continuing education platform and an interactive community for professional orthopedic surgeons, Weiyi.com facilitates the sharing of medical knowledge and enhances physicians’ professional skills. Meanwhile, the accumulation of big medical data plays a highly positive role in transforming the traditional healthcare industry chain. China Renaissance is pleased to have assisted Weiyi.com in completing this financing round and believes that the company will continue to leverage its existing advantages to become the most authoritative continuing education and professional social platform for the orthopedic community in China.”
