Nowadays, the Internet has permeated people’s lives, demonstrating significant advantages in the healthcare sector. Currently, numerous apps designed specifically for doctors and patients have made medical consultations more convenient for patients and clinical practice smoother for physicians. However, compared with doctors and patients, nurses—though their work is less complex and specialized than that of physicians—play an indispensable role in patient treatment and in facilitating smooth clinical practice by assisting doctors. Nurses are not only responsible for administering intravenous infusions and dispensing medications; they must also provide humanistic care to patients and possess a higher level of professional competence. Therefore, some apps tailored specifically for nurses have emerged. VCBeat has conducted the following analysis on this trend:
Category 1: Study aids and exam preparation tools, including nursing knowledge and questions for the Nurse Qualification Examination, to help nursing students pass their exams.
Category 2: Information and Data, including resources such as the latest news and academic journals
Category 3: Tool-based software for managing nursing care and scheduling daily tasks
Category 4: Facilitating Communication, Relaxation, and Socializing

Nurses face heavy workloads and high stress. Although their medical knowledge is not as in-depth as that of physicians, their role cannot be overlooked. Therefore, developing suitable mobile applications for nurses can help them perform their duties more effectively, facilitate physicians’ clinical practice, and accelerate patient recovery. Many relevant apps have been developed in China. The software solutions introduced earlier each have their own focus; some offer relatively single-function features, while others combine multiple functionalities. Nurses should select appropriate software based on their individual needs to enhance both their professional performance and personal well-being. Analysis of these applications reveals that apps specifically designed for nurses are still in an immature stage, leaving substantial room for growth. In my view, more new features tailored to nurses’ daily workflows should be developed.
